White Rice - Chawal
Directions
Wash the rice and chana dal. Let it soak in water for half an hour. In a pot heat the oil and butter.
Add the cumin, cinnamon, cardamom, pepper balls, bay leaves and cloves. Fry for 2 minutes.
Add the onions and fry until soft for 5 minutes then add the ginger garlic paste and yoghurt.
Add the water and bring to boil. Add the rice, salt and milk. Stir it then leave it on high heat for 15 minutes.
Move the pot to low heat and cover with a lid then leave it to cook for 10-15 minutes. If need be, add a little water for soft rice.
Conclusion
Serve hot with daal.
