    Heat the oil and add the pepper, bay leaves, cloves, cinnamon and cumin.

    Step 1

    Fry for 1 minutes, then, add the onions. Braise on medium heat for 5 minutes.

    Step 2

    Add a handful of fenugreek leaves and stir. Then add the chicken, chillies and ginger garlic paste. Cook for 2 minutes.

    Step 3

    Add the salt, chilli flakes, garam masala, coriander powder, amchoor powder, ground cumin, turmeric and chilli powder. Add ½ cup of water and stir for 3 minutes.

    Step 4

    Add the tomato and cover with a lid for 5 minutes or till the tomatoes soften.

    Step 5

    Add the boiled chana daal and 1 cup of water.

    Step 6

    Serve garnished with fresh coriander and mint and green chillies.
