I’m sure we can all agree that freshly ground spices at home are always the best to use in cooking. At Ruky Cooks one of our main tips to make delicious food is to use freshly ground spices. We’ve been making our own garam masala for years now, can’t even remember the last time we bought some!

Here's our garam masala recipe

Step 1

Toast the seeds in a pan for 5 minutes until aroma starts to come out. Stir occasionally to ensure even browning

Step 2

Cool for a few minutes then grind into a fine powder

Step 3

Store in an airtight container and place in a cool dry place
