Ras Malai is most definitely a family favourite when it comes to Indian Desserts. We just love the taste of the moist balls mixed with the delicious milk. It just can’t be beaten!
Ras Malai is a classic Indian Dessert eaten ALL over Indian and now all over the world. The general concept of making homemade ras malai is quite straightforward however it can be tricky to get the perfect moistness and texture!
Here's the step-by-step method so your ras malai turns out perfect ALL the time!
In a medium sized bowl, mix together the milk powder, plain flour and baking powder
Whisk 1 egg and gradually add to the dry ingredients to make a soft dough. Watch the YouTube video for reference
Roll into small balls (it will make approximately 30 small balls)
Bring milk to a boil. Then add the balls into the milk
Cover the lid for 10-15 minutes on low-medium heat, until the balls double in size
Add the condensed milk, cardamom, pistachio and saffron. Chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour before serving.
